How Skintention Came to Be
Hi, I'm Barbara Perez, founder of Skintention, and California Licensed Esthetician and Acne Specialist, located in downtown Pleasanton, CA. with over 10+ years of professional experience — and a career built entirely around one mission: helping people achieve clear skin when nothing else has worked.
Her journey gegan in 2003 at an upscale spa in Danville, Ca. It was her subsequent work in a Dermatology practice that shaped everything. There, Barbara witnessed firsthand what so many acne sufferes already know — that antibiotics, topical prescription, and even Accutane often don't deliver results.
Rather than accepting that as the norm, she sought answers.

Barbara pursued advanced specialized ance training and studied under the late Dr. James Fulton — the pioneering dermatologist and researcher who co-developed Retin-A and dedicated his life's work to understanding and treating acne. She went on to work at Face Reality Acne Clinic and has been mentored by highly regarded leaders in the acne speciality field.
That foundation is what Skintention is built on. Every protocol, every product in the exclusive Skintention by Barbara Perez skincare line, and every treatment plan Barbara designs is informed by over two decades of clinical learning and real-world results.
Barbara takes pride in helping clients of all ages, genders, and ethinic backgrounds achieve clear skin through consistent, proven protocols. She believes deeply that clear skin transforms more than just appearance — it restores confidence, changes how people move through the world, and genuinely inmproves quality of life.
